I’m not much of a Diva myself but I know a lady who I think Diva is her middle name. She has to always wear makeup and of course the latest fashions. Actually she even takes fashion a bit above most as many of the clothes she buys are one of a kind or limited editions. Which brings me to what I’d like to talk about today.
When God created women he created beautiful masterpieces, he carefully chose the details of not only our physical features but our personalities and gifts as well. With that being said I can confidently say that no two women are exactly alike. When He created you, He created a designer’s original. Each of us are one of a kind and it’s time we started embracing that. I mean truly walk in who we are. Maybe God made you a laid back person who is awesome at playing the guitar, or who is an excellent decorator. I’ve heard people say I wish I could be like so and so she does (fill in the blank) so well, but why not admire and master your own gifts. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s nothing wrong with admiring someone’s gift but don’t forget to admire yours as well. Hence the name gift, it was given to you by God so that you can share it with the world.
If everyone had the same gifts or were exactly the same the world would be boring in my opinion. My son and I were watching a TV show a little while ago with two teenage girls who are friends. One of them had been observing how people treated her because of her personality so she tried to be like her friend in an effort to get people to treat her the same way. Ultimately in the end it didn’t work out because she was miserable trying to be somebody that she wasn’t. It’s kind of like trying to squeeze your foot in a size 6 shoe but you know you wear a size 8. Not a very good fit, huh? Well it’s the same with life and being who God made you to be. It would be much more comfortable being who you truly are. Even if being who you truly are may cost you a few friends. Sometimes we as women change so that we can fit into a certain crowd or to please others, but is it really worth it?
There’s a Dr. Seuss quote that sums it up perfectly, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out”.
Always remember, YOU ARE WORTHY!
