Birthing Your Dream

I vividly remember as a little girl having a conversation with my dad about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I mean I remember it like it was a few hours ago. In that conversation I told him I wanted to be photographer. Honestly I don’t even know when we had that conversation if I even owned a camera, but something in me knew I wanted to be a photographer. You know as a kid when you speak, you speak from the heart as that is the time for most when life hasn’t happened yet and you believe that anything is possible. After that day I don’t even remember thinking about being a photographer much or even giving the conversation much thought. I just went on being a kid, and has I got older and began to be around my friends more, I unintentionally started capturing the memories we made with pictures.

Still never really thinking much about being a photographer, just doing what I loved. Growing up I always had a camera even if it was just a throw away camera, I had to capture the moment.

Then as life began to happen and I became an adult I would take pictures less often. I had begun to let life and life circumstances keep me from what I loved. I was an adult now and thought that doing what you love is what you do when you are a kid. As an adult I began to gain the mentality that you do what you have to do or what you are expected to do. Even though that was my reality at the time, somewhere inside was a little girl who wanted to be a photographer.

Well fast forward a few years and I began my dream of being a photographer, not full time but I was still doing what I loved. Today I don’t photograph as much as I’d like but that is changing also. So I am here today to tell you that just because you are an adult doesn’t mean you can’t do what you love and make a living from it. Of course as an adult we have to take care of our responsibilities and do what you have to do but that doesn’t mean you can’t also do what you love. There will be work involved in making the dream of doing what you love a reality but it will all be worth it. It’s like when you are in labor to deliver a child there will be labor pain and you will have to push but once it’s all said and done and you see your beautiful baby, you forget about the pain and begin to enjoy the blessing your new bundle of joy brings.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to look back over this year on December 31, 2017 and say you you’re in the process of birthing your dream, to say you started that business, you finished that book, or whatever your dream may be? There is a quote that I remember seeing on New Year’s Eve 2015 on a church marque that read “A year from now you will wish you started today”. So let me ask you what dream do you have in your heart waiting to be birthed? Think about this for a minute and begin to dream those childlike dreams again, you know the real you before life happened kind of dreams, then write it down. Like the good book says “Write the vision and make it plain” Habakuk 2:2. Even though you aren’t still a kid anything is still possible.

So let me ask you this, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Always remember YOU ARE A WORTHY WOMAN!

Don’t Believe the Spies

GOD IS BIGGER

Numbers 13:27-33Amplified Bible (AMP)

27 They reported to Moses and said, “We went in to the land where you sent us; and it certainly does flow with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 But the people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified (walled) and very large; moreover, we saw there the descendants of Anak [people of great stature and courage]. 29 [The people descended from] Amalek live in the land of the Negev (South country); the Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the [Dead] Sea and along the side of the Jordan.” 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession of it; for we will certainly conquer it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people [of Canaan], for they are too strong for us.” 32 So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we went, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

There are times in life where we are led to follow a dream or step out in faith but after a little while has passed we put the dream on the shelf or shrink back in fear. Often more times than not the shrinking back or putting the dream back on the shelf is a result of listening to the spies. Listening to the spies you might ask. The spies are the naysayers, the downers or the prophets of doom. Those who can always find the reason it won’t work, the reason the dream won’t come to pass or the reason the situation will never change. It’s interesting that it isn’t always people who are the spies, it’s sometimes our own thoughts. The thoughts that take over your mind saying you can’t do this, you don’t have this or no one will this and on and on. From this day forward I say to you don’t believe the spies! The spies of doubt, fear , unbelief Continue reading Don’t Believe the Spies

Who do you think you are?

In a world where they say image is everything, it’s easy to lose yourself trying to be everything everyone else wants you to be. Dress like this, drive this, act like this, and look like this, in other words fit into the mold. That’s ok if you just choose to be normal and live your life going through the motions, but let me ask you a question. Who do you think you are???

You are beautiful and worthy… and not just because man said so but because God said so.

A lot of times in life we have dreams that we want to pursue and maybe for a few days we are gung ho on fulfilling those dreams. Then……somebody that you told about your dream or idea says to you “That’s not possible or you can’t do that” in other words they are saying who do you think you are??

The next time someone says asks you those questions, you can kindly tell them, I am the daughter of a king and with Him I can do anything!

Many times other people tell us that we can do something simply because they feel if they were in our shoes they would not be able to do it, and for some people that takes them out of their comfort zone because they feel if she is doing such and such I have to be doing something.  Then you have those who just don’t want you to succeed just because. Let that be your motivation.

Of course I’m not saying just go out and do everything you think you want to do, but those dreams and ideas that you know that God has placed on the inside of you GO FOR IT!

You will have that devil sitting on one shoulder saying….

You will never succeed

You don’t even have the money to do that

Nobody will listen to you

Nobody will buy those products

You aren’t smart enough to do that

Who do you think you are?

BUT

The angel of  God is right there saying……

You can do all things through Christ who Strengthens you Phil 4:13

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1 John 2:20

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.(KJV) 1 john 4:4

If God be for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31b

You are a queen no matter what the world says!

Priceless

Priceless- having a value beyond any price : invaluable b : costly because of rarity or quality : precious

Many times as women we have been hurt bruised & battered by so many that sometimes we fail to live the life God called us to live. Some women simply just exist, going through the motions daily but aren’t really fulfilled. Many times because of the circumstances of life women fail to value themselves. It seems to me that society & Hollywood have taught women you have to look & be a certain way to be worth something.  Well I am here to tell you today that you are invaluable in the eyes of God. To be exact you are priceless. No matter where you’ve been, what you’ve done, who loved or didn’t love you, it doesn’t change your value. God loves you so much! The bible says in Matt 10:30-31 ” He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail-even numbering the hairs on your head! 31 So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.”

No matter the circumstance you are still priceless. Let me give you an example. If I have a $20 dollar bill and rip it in half, ball it up or poke holes in it, will it still be worth $20?

Of course it will, you will just need to tape the halves back together, unball it, or tape up the holes. The same goes for you whatever damage that has been done to you doesn’t change your value. Allow God to be that tape in your life.

” To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;”  Isa 61:3

So today I challenge you to begin seeing yourself the way God sees you, which is Priceless.

Even  on the days when you’re feeling down and not feeling like u are the things God said, speak it by faith “call those things that be not as though they were”(Roman 4:17)

Confess it by saying ” I am priceless and not defined by my circumstances. I am fearfully and wonderfully made in the sight of God” I love me and God loves me!
