Bought With A Price And Insured

I heard a really good sermon the other day that really made me look at the love of God in a different way. It’s always been comforting to know that God loved us so much that we were bought with the priceless blood of Jesus. That’s just awesome in itself, He loved us so much that He sent His one and only son to die on the cross for you and me. Just imagine every one of your sins, sickness and disease has already been paid for by Jesus blood.

Think about it for a second, someone loved you so much that they gave their life for yours. I don’t know about you but for me this story never gets old and never loses it’s impact. And just in case you happen to lose sight of His love along the way, He left us some insurance if you will to remind us of His love. He didn’t just love us enough to die for us He loved us so much that He left us His word, an instruction manual and love letter for life. Bought with a price and insured, now that’s love. In case you need a reminder of his love at any given time your insurance policy(the word) is always there to remind you of that love.

I don’t mean to be redundant but knowing how much we are loved is exciting to me and I want to be sure that you and women around the world know about His love. If you are not familiar with His word why not get acquainted today, Proverbs is a great place to start.

As always, remember You are a Worthy Woman!

Unconditional Love

It’s funny how in life we encounter many different people & personalities. Those who attempt to bring out the worst in us & others who bring out the absolute best. Those who give ultimatums & love us conditionally & those who love us no matter what. Just in case you didn’t know God’s love is unconditional.

He’s loves you when you’re at your best and He also loves you in the times you’re at your worst. There is nothing that we can do to make our Heavenly Father love us any less. He doesn’t give ultimatums and loves you for who you are. Whether you are tall or short, light or dark, introverted or extroverted He loves you. Yes He loves you, you reading this blog. He loves you! Look at yourself in the mirror and say God loves me!

Yes He loves you! The word says “He loves us with an everlasting love”(Jeremiah 31:3a). Everlasting means forever, so yes God will love you forever. His love doesn’t change and it’s never revoked. God’s unconditional love is always there and you can count on that. As Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

So if you are reading this today and you feel that there is no way that God can love you, because you’ve done such and such. He does love you and He loves you unconditionally. Here are a few things He has said about you or to you:

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. John 15:9(ESV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16(NIV)

For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, 39 or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us. Romans 8:38-39(TLB)

So no matter what you’ve done or what you’re going through God’s love is ever present in you and for you. He loves you so much, more than you will ever know. Receive His love today.

God Loves You Unconditionally and remember You Are A Worthy Woman!

He Loves You!

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I thought it was the perfect time to speak to you ladies on love. For the next few weeks I will be doing a series titled “So Loved”.  As a minister at my church always used to say “you haven’t been loved until you’ve been SO LOVED”.

I remember as a little girl when we really liked someone we would get flowers with petals and take the petals off one by one alternating saying “he loves me, he loves me not”, and if on the last petal you were at he loves me then it meant that possibly the boy liked you. Oh the silly things we did as kids, what a way to determine love.

Whether you are spending this Valentine’s Day with or without someone I’d like to tell you that you are SO LOVED, HE LOVES YOU. I know usually around this time of the year we compute love in dinners, balloons and gifts but it goes far beyond that. We have been loved with an everlasting love(Jeremiah 31:3), a love that’s not conditional or only comes around some of the time, this is a everyday all day kind of love.

This love I’m speaking of is the father’s love, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”( I John 3:1a).  So whether you will have a valentine or not this year, know that YOU ARE LOVED. You are so loved that not only did He give His only begotten son for you, He created the masterpiece of you. He carefully planned every detail about you even down to the number of hairs on your head. Wow…that ‘s some kind of love. I know you may be thinking(if you’re single) you want a physical love and I totally understand that, but at God’s perfect time He will send you someone who He has hand picked for you. It will definitely be worth the wait, but until then enjoy the exclusivity of God’s love. I pray that God’s love floods your heart today and that you feel His presence today and everyday. So that you always remember I want you to say every day I am (insert your name here) and I AM LOVED!

Focus on the Finish Line

At the start of a dream most if not all people are excited, and motivated to say the least. The beginning is always fun and exciting and nothing can keep you from your dream so it seems. In talking about dreams and goals the beginning and the end of the dream or goal are happy times but what about the middle? You know when it seems like those small wins just aren’t enough and everyone around you is excelling at full speed ahead but it seems that your progress is slow? It’s at times like that when you must be intentional with your focus, it’s at times like that when you must have a laser focus if you will.

It’s so easy to look around and see the progress that others are making, and your small wins seem insignificant, but don’t despise small beginnings. Just keep that tunnel vision and you will get there. Focus is very important in achieving your dreams, and losing your focus to see what others are doing is good way to slow down your own progress. In that looking at others and comparing can cause you to get side tracked and sometimes makes you wonder if you are even on the right track. Don’t make that mistake because everyone’s journey will be different and just because someone is at a certain stage in the process doesn’t mean when you are at that stage yours experience will be the same.

To eliminate the stress and pressures of this, focusing on the finish line or your end goal is vital. It’s not to say stress out thinking only about the finish and nothing else, but enjoy the process. Enjoy the knowledge and experience you will gain along the way and before you know it, you will be seeing the fulfillment of that dream and ready to go after a new and exciting dream. So keep at it and don’t be discouraged just keep your eye on the prize and focus on the finish line. You have what it takes to succeed.

Remember you are a Worthy Woman.

You’ve Figure Out Your Dream, Now What?

In the journey to the birthing your dreams of course knowing your dreams are important, but that’s only half the battle. After you’ve figured out the dream that you’re going after, there is a crucial step you must take. That crucial step is goal setting. Many of you may know what goal setting is, but for those of you that don’t. Goal setting is basically a clearly written desire. It’s been said by Brian Tracy that “people with clear written goals will accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could imagine”. I don’t know what it is but it’s something about writing that goal down and keeping it before your eyes, that makes you want to take action. I guess you can say setting goals are the action steps to achieving your dreams. I don’t want to sound misleading by having you think that all you have to do is write them down and they’ll happen, of course there will be work involved. By reaching a series of small goals your dreams can become a reality.

So let’s get into a few steps for setting goals. The steps for this process may be different for others, but this is the process that I use. The steps for setting goals are:

1. Be Specific- When creating your goals it’s a must that you be specific. For example, If your goal is to go
to school what school and what will you go to school for. It’s just much more doable when you are specific
with your goals. I mean if you aren’t specific there’s no telling what you’ll get. I remember a few years
ago I was making spaghetti for my sister and I told her the ingredients to get but I must have not been
very specific on the kind of sauce to get because she bought the sauce that she uses(which I wasn’t fond
of). Since I wasn’t specific I had to use the sauce that she brought and my recipe wasn’t exactly the way I
like it. So now anytime I make spaghetti for anyone I am sure to be specific on the sauce to buy. The same
goes for our goals, be specific on what you want or you may get less than what you expected.

2. Write it down- Writing your goal down is a vital factor to achieving your goal. There have been times in
the past where I have talked about things I wanted to do but never wrote them down and they almost never
came to pass, and if they did it took longer than I expected. I don’t know what it is about writing down
the goals that makes it more effective but I know it works.

3. Set a deadline-Give yourself a deadline to meet your goal(a realistic deadline). If you set a deadline for
a goal that isn’t realistic you will set yourself up to fail.

4. Keep it before your eyes- Once you have created your goal be sure to keep it before your eyes often. One of
my favorite ways to do this is with a vision board(I will talk more about vision boards in an upcoming
post). Keeping your goal before your eyes can simply be a picture of a representation of your goal on the
refrigerator, or even photo slideshow on your computer screensaver. Either way the visual representation of
your goal will be pivotal in achieving your goal.

5. Tell someone- I find that telling someone of the goal you’re trying to achieve keeps you accountable.

6. Create a plan of action- All of the previous steps are great but without a plan it may be a bit difficult
to achieve your goals. When creating a plan of action to achieving your goals the best way to accomplish
this is one step at a time. I love the saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”. The same
goes for your goals. Break the goal into small steps and get to achieving those dreams! You have what it
takes to make it happen.

Failure Isn’t Final

A little while ago we were going over my son’s lessons from school and he got stuck on a few math problems as he had given the wrong answer. In his mind he felt that since he got so many wrong that he had failed. I told him he hadn’t failed he just learned. After I checked his work and identified the problems he had wrong we went over them, watched an instruction video on how to correctly do this type of math and then he redid the problems. After taking those steps he got all the problems right, well in his mind he thought because he didn’t get it right the first time that he failed.

A lot of times in life we have the same view about failure, but in my opinion failure sometimes teaches us more than success. It’s in those times of failure that we must not give up. Just think if Thomas Edison had given up after the first time he tried to make an invention from the peanut. There would be a possibility that the world would be void of his inventions today, such as the light bulb. I’m not saying it will be easy, but it’ll be worth it. It could be that one time you decide to give up, your success could be one step away. I’ve always loved the Thomas Edison quote “I have not failed. I just found 10,00 ways that didn’t work”. So don’t think of the absence of success as failure but as a way that didn’t work.

Just recently I was listening to a podcast and the guest touched on this. He talked about how he launched a community last year and it had zero sign ups. He has now recently relaunched the community and this time he got over 100 sign ups in two weeks. As one of my favorite teachers in school would say “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again”. You have it in you to succeed.I believe in you!

Designer’s Original

I’m not much of a Diva myself but I know a lady who I think Diva is her middle name. She has to always wear makeup and of course the latest fashions. Actually she even takes fashion a bit above most as many of the clothes she buys are one of a kind or limited editions. Which brings me to what I’d like to talk about today.

When God created women he created beautiful masterpieces, he carefully chose the details of not only our physical features but our personalities and gifts as well. With that being said I can confidently say that no two women are exactly alike. When He created you, He created a designer’s original. Each of us are one of a kind and it’s time we started embracing that. I mean truly walk in who we are. Maybe God made you a laid back person who is awesome at playing the guitar, or who is an excellent decorator. I’ve heard people say I wish I could be like so and so she does (fill in the blank) so well, but why not admire and master your own gifts. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s nothing wrong with admiring someone’s gift but don’t forget to admire yours as well. Hence the name gift, it was given to you by God so that you can share it with the world.

If everyone had the same gifts or were exactly the same the world would be boring in my opinion. My son and I were watching a TV show a little while ago with two teenage girls who are friends. One of them had been observing how people treated her because of her personality so she tried to be like her friend in an effort to get people to treat her the same way. Ultimately in the end it didn’t work out because she was miserable trying to be somebody that she wasn’t. It’s kind of like trying to squeeze your foot in a size 6 shoe but you know you wear a size 8. Not a very good fit, huh? Well it’s the same with life and being who God made you to be. It would be much more comfortable being who you truly are. Even if being who you truly are may cost you a few friends. Sometimes we as women change so that we can fit into a certain crowd or to please others, but is it really worth it?

There’s a Dr. Seuss quote that sums it up perfectly, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out”.

Always remember, YOU ARE WORTHY!

Birthing Your Dream

I vividly remember as a little girl having a conversation with my dad about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I mean I remember it like it was a few hours ago. In that conversation I told him I wanted to be photographer. Honestly I don’t even know when we had that conversation if I even owned a camera, but something in me knew I wanted to be a photographer. You know as a kid when you speak, you speak from the heart as that is the time for most when life hasn’t happened yet and you believe that anything is possible. After that day I don’t even remember thinking about being a photographer much or even giving the conversation much thought. I just went on being a kid, and has I got older and began to be around my friends more, I unintentionally started capturing the memories we made with pictures.

Still never really thinking much about being a photographer, just doing what I loved. Growing up I always had a camera even if it was just a throw away camera, I had to capture the moment.

Then as life began to happen and I became an adult I would take pictures less often. I had begun to let life and life circumstances keep me from what I loved. I was an adult now and thought that doing what you love is what you do when you are a kid. As an adult I began to gain the mentality that you do what you have to do or what you are expected to do. Even though that was my reality at the time, somewhere inside was a little girl who wanted to be a photographer.

Well fast forward a few years and I began my dream of being a photographer, not full time but I was still doing what I loved. Today I don’t photograph as much as I’d like but that is changing also. So I am here today to tell you that just because you are an adult doesn’t mean you can’t do what you love and make a living from it. Of course as an adult we have to take care of our responsibilities and do what you have to do but that doesn’t mean you can’t also do what you love. There will be work involved in making the dream of doing what you love a reality but it will all be worth it. It’s like when you are in labor to deliver a child there will be labor pain and you will have to push but once it’s all said and done and you see your beautiful baby, you forget about the pain and begin to enjoy the blessing your new bundle of joy brings.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to look back over this year on December 31, 2017 and say you you’re in the process of birthing your dream, to say you started that business, you finished that book, or whatever your dream may be? There is a quote that I remember seeing on New Year’s Eve 2015 on a church marque that read “A year from now you will wish you started today”. So let me ask you what dream do you have in your heart waiting to be birthed? Think about this for a minute and begin to dream those childlike dreams again, you know the real you before life happened kind of dreams, then write it down. Like the good book says “Write the vision and make it plain” Habakuk 2:2. Even though you aren’t still a kid anything is still possible.

So let me ask you this, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Always remember YOU ARE A WORTHY WOMAN!

Don’t Believe the Spies

Numbers 13:27-33Amplified Bible (AMP)

27 They reported to Moses and said, “We went in to the land where you sent us; and it certainly does flow with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 But the people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified (walled) and very large; moreover, we saw there the descendants of Anak [people of great stature and courage]. 29 [The people descended from] Amalek live in the land of the Negev (South country); the Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the [Dead] Sea and along the side of the Jordan.” 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession of it; for we will certainly conquer it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people [of Canaan], for they are too strong for us.” 32 So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we went, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

There are times in life where we are led to follow a dream or step out in faith but after a little while has passed we put the dream on the shelf or shrink back in fear. Often more times than not the shrinking back or putting the dream back on the shelf is a result of listening to the spies. Listening to the spies you might ask. The spies are the naysayers, the downers or the prophets of doom. Those who can always find the reason it won’t work, the reason the dream won’t come to pass or the reason the situation will never change. It’s interesting that it isn’t always people who are the spies, it’s sometimes our own thoughts. The thoughts that take over your mind saying you can’t do this, you don’t have this or no one will this and on and on. From this day forward I say to you don’t believe the spies! The spies of doubt, fear , unbelief Continue reading Don’t Believe the Spies

Who do you think you are?

In a world where they say image is everything, it’s easy to lose yourself trying to be everything everyone else wants you to be. Dress like this, drive this, act like this, and look like this, in other words fit into the mold. That’s ok if you just choose to be normal and live your life going through the motions, but let me ask you a question. Who do you think you are???

You are beautiful and worthy… and not just because man said so but because God said so.

A lot of times in life we have dreams that we want to pursue and maybe for a few days we are gung ho on fulfilling those dreams. Then……somebody that you told about your dream or idea says to you “That’s not possible or you can’t do that” in other words they are saying who do you think you are??

The next time someone says asks you those questions, you can kindly tell them, I am the daughter of a king and with Him I can do anything!

Many times other people tell us that we can do something simply because they feel if they were in our shoes they would not be able to do it, and for some people that takes them out of their comfort zone because they feel if she is doing such and such I have to be doing something.  Then you have those who just don’t want you to succeed just because. Let that be your motivation.

Of course I’m not saying just go out and do everything you think you want to do, but those dreams and ideas that you know that God has placed on the inside of you GO FOR IT!

You will have that devil sitting on one shoulder saying….

You will never succeed

You don’t even have the money to do that

Nobody will listen to you

Nobody will buy those products

You aren’t smart enough to do that

Who do you think you are?

The angel of  God is right there saying……

You can do all things through Christ who Strengthens you Phil 4:13

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1 John 2:20

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.(KJV) 1 john 4:4

If God be for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31b

I can’t because……

I can because…….

You are a queen no matter what the world says!
